Baby elephant - Handmade felt bookmark part 3

Good evening everyone,
I had another great day, thanks to the God Sun and thanks to another fact: I have tickets to go to Italy in 2 months for my birthday! I can't wait to get a proper summer day. My birthday happens to be also my parents' anniversary, it's gonna be 33 years together this year, sweet.

Speaking of sweetness...I love animals and one of my favourite is the elephant, unfortunately though, I have never seen one live because I have never been to a zoo in my life (and I never will), but who knows, maybe next year I'll go to Kenya or somewhere else where I will see a real elephant, that would be amazing! Anyway, they inspired me in making these super cute bookmarks :)

I hope you like them! My favourite is the pink one, I am actually using it for my book...now I have to think of a name for it :)

Handmade felt bookmark - part 2

Hello hello!
I am back from Italy and I have a new job, a bit boring but still better than waking up at 5 am... This is why I didn't have time to post anything this week. I guess I still have to get use to my new timetable :)
This is a picture of one of the amazing places where we have been, so beautiful....
Italia, Cinque Terre

Anyway, few weeks before going to Italy, I went to the unique Makers Market in Brixton. Instead of the usual Saturday Market, there are several stalls of makers, creative people who make and sell everything, from purses and hair accessories to pillow and brooches, all handmade. Some of these creations were beautiful and the people were just amazing, so keen on speaking to you and have a chat, I even had a cup of tea in a stall where you could tell you opinion on how to improve Brixton.

I can't wait to go again!

Unfortunately my sewing machine is still broken :( so I am still doing felt bookmarks and brooches, very beautiful, but I miss making my little purses!

It's cupcake time! Beautiful handmade felt bookmark and brooch

Happy Friday everyone!
I hope your weekend has started in the best possible way, I know mine has :)
Next week it's going to be the last at the cafè where I have been working for almost two months. Although it wasn't my dream job, I feel a bit sad because I know I will miss my amazing colleague Isabel and I was also getting fond of some customers. It's amazing how some people can change your mood with just a smile or few sweet words.

I am travelling, (yes, again), going back home for 11 days and after that I will start working as a Project Manager, finally!

In Italy I will travel around, since I am not going alone :) We are going to visit the beautiful Cinque Terre. These are 5 small villages on the coast of Liguria (not far from Genoa) and they have been declared UNESCO world heritage site and this is why:

This is a unique place, you won't find anything like this anywhere else...
We are also going to Verona and Venice, to meet some friends....oh, I can't wait to see a proper sun!!

Anyway, my last creations are made out of felt, very nice and sweet. It is a cupcake brooch and a cupcake bookmark! All I had to do, was to decide the shape of the muffin, draw it on paper, cut the paper, pin it on the felt and cut. And then, sew sew sew!

I really like them and I am going to make some more. As always they're on sale, just send me a private msg, for more information you can also decide the colour and shape!
Have a looke at them and tell me what do you think!

Handmade corner bookmarks

Good evening everyone,
this is a cute handmade bookmark and it's very very easy to make.
I was preparing a tutorial, but the pictures came out all blurred...I'll post them anyway, but you can find a tutorial with proper pictures here.

Start by drawing three squares as shown below (mine measure abut 5 cm/ 2", but you can make yours bigger or smaller, as you prefer):

Then transfer the shape to a coloured paper:

Cut a square, in a different colour. This square should be slightly smaller than the base:

Glue the squared paper to the main one and fold the two triangles:

Glue the second triangle to the first, as shown in these pictures (do not glue the first triangle to the squared base, that's where the page corner is going to be slip on):

Finally, add eyes and yellow teethes to give it a face:

Et voilà, you now have a cute monster bookmark!
