Hello Spring?

Hello everyone!
It's Friday and I am over the moon for many reasons: first of all, today was my last day at the cafe, I am finally going to start a proper job in April!
Second of all :) I am going to Italy on Sunday! It's going to be great, I can't wait to leave this grey, cold and horrible weather! It snowed for 10 minutes this morning and now the sky is hopelessly grey, windy and freezing.
Yes, spring started, even tough it really doesn't look like it did....but I am full of hope, hope that when I will be back from Italy, the sky will be blue over London, I really can't take this anymore.

Here's what I would say if it was sunny as it is supposed to be, plus some random images that I like and that are saved on my desktop.

I hope you are having a great weekend, wherever you are :)

Book review: All sewn up by Chloe Owens

Hello hello,
happy rainy afternoon everyone!
Today I am going to write my very first and short review of a book I purchased few months ago, this one:

All sewn up

As you can see from the picture this book is "All sewn up" by Chloe Owens and I have to say, I love it!

First of all, the look of it is just lovely, very nice style and font.

Being at a beginner/intermediate level and self-taught at the sewing machine, this book is just perfect for me. There are many beautiful projects and Chloe explains in a very clear and straightforward way how they have to be done. The projects (36) are divided by cathegories, such as "Presents", "relax", "Decorations" and at the end of the book, there is a very useful section where she explains in detail all the techniques used in the book.

The only negative aspect of this book is its translation. I purchased the book in Italian (I know, my mistake, but it was cheaper and I was in Italy!) and the translation is bad. Or maybe it isn't very bad but, being a translator myself, I become overcritical when I read something in Italian that has been translated from English. Anyway, in my opinion, the Italian version is not good, but apart from this, I really recommend it, it's a good book.

Enjoy it!

Lovely and cloudy felt brooch

Hello everyone, happy Sunday :)

Yesterday the weather was horrile so, after having spent a very intensive hour in the gym and after a lovely coffee with a new friend, I came home and made a beautiful new felt brooch.
I was meant to make one of these for long, but never did, so yeaterday I took advantage of the miserable weather and made my first cloudy brooch.
I love it! I made two versions of it, which one do you prefer? You can find many different version of cloudy felt brooches on the internet and I think they are all lovely. I am very pleased with the result, being the first one I did. Not too bad!
I am also very excited because next Sunsay at this time, I will be in my beloved, warm Italy. I can't wait!!
We are also deciding about our next holidays this summer...we have to choose between Brazil and Thailand....I know, they're both stunningly beautiful countries, but I really don't know what to choose.... I know I've been to Brazil already, but it is so big and there is so much more to explore...
So, will it be Brazil....

 ...or Thailand?
Thailand

Anyway, back to the felt brooch, I took pictures of both versions of it, let me know which one do you prefer!!
This is the first version:

Have a lovely Sunday,

It's cupcake time! Beautiful handmade felt bookmark and brooch

Happy Friday everyone!
I hope your weekend has started in the best possible way, I know mine has :)
Next week it's going to be the last at the cafè where I have been working for almost two months. Although it wasn't my dream job, I feel a bit sad because I know I will miss my amazing colleague Isabel and I was also getting fond of some customers. It's amazing how some people can change your mood with just a smile or few sweet words.

I am travelling, (yes, again), going back home for 11 days and after that I will start working as a Project Manager, finally!

In Italy I will travel around, since I am not going alone :) We are going to visit the beautiful Cinque Terre. These are 5 small villages on the coast of Liguria (not far from Genoa) and they have been declared UNESCO world heritage site and this is why:

This is a unique place, you won't find anything like this anywhere else...
We are also going to Verona and Venice, to meet some friends....oh, I can't wait to see a proper sun!!

Anyway, my last creations are made out of felt, very nice and sweet. It is a cupcake brooch and a cupcake bookmark! All I had to do, was to decide the shape of the muffin, draw it on paper, cut the paper, pin it on the felt and cut. And then, sew sew sew!

I really like them and I am going to make some more. As always they're on sale, just send me a private msg, for more information you can also decide the colour and shape!
Have a looke at them and tell me what do you think!

New beautiful woolen scarves

Hello everyone!

I am so sorry for this long silence...my sewing machine is broken :( I can't sew and I have so many ideas and so much fabric to use!

I went to Prague two weeks ago and I bought a lot of fabric, so beautiful and sooo cheap!
I bought it in this shop, it's called flex-tex, it's in Prague 7 and they have so much stuff there, I didn't know where to start from! The medium price for one meter of fabric is 100CZK which means €4 or £3.3. Can you believe it? And they also have zippers, buttons and everything you can think of if you sew.
I think they do online orders, but I am not sure whether they ship abroad or not.

Anyway, I received a package from Italy, sent by my mum <3
She sent me few new scarves made by her, so beautiful. I was tempted to keep them for me, but what would I do with 5 scarves? So, they could be yours if you like them!
They are 100% handmade and 100% fine quality Italian wool. Very soft and very warm for this winter that seems endless!
Here some pictures for you!

So, these are the new scarves, but we (my mum and I) accept orders, if you have a favourite colour, we can make a scarf just for you! They are on sale, £25, drop me a private message :)

I hope you're haveing a great weekend, I really need to rest after a week of very early mornings! What are you going to do? I will have a couple of lessons - I also teach Italian privately - and maybe meet a friend in Covent Garden.

Well, enjoy the rest of the weekend then and I promise I won't wait too long before posting again!
