Handmade fabric coasters - Tutorial

Handmade fabric coaster

Hello everyone!
I am back in grey and sad England...I wish I could have stayed in Italy longer but...oh, well, the important thing is that I had a great time there :)
Anyway, today has been a quite productive day, I made seven or eight fabric coasters and they look beautiful! They just need to find the right table to be put put on and it can be your table!!

What do you need:

  • two fabrics, one exterior and one lining 10 cm X 10 cm
  • a piece of fusible interfacing 10 cm X 10 cm (I used a normal batting for mine)
  • a sewing machine
  • scissors

1) Cut the fabrics and the interfacing

2) Place the fabrics

On exterior fabric right side up, put the lining fabric right side down (in my case it was irrelevant as the lining is just a plain colour fabric). On top of the lining put the batting.

3) Sew!

Sew along the sides and leave 5 cm on one side as shown in the picture:

4) Turn it right-side out
